I co-founded Sweet with the mission to grow comics through heartfelt technology. Our flagship product is designed to help anyone discover, read, and share comics without commoditizing creators.

Comics are one of the most creative and expressive storytelling mediums on the planet. The most fun and humbling challenge of designing Sweet Shop was getting out of the way—letting the art shine through while wrapping everything in the best possible UX. Artwork sizes, description lengths, and metadata vary wildly across books and publishers, so every decision had to account for that.
Waitlist
We launched into beta with an invite-only waitlist. The goal of the teaser site was to introduce Sweet Shop to the world, show off the breadth of publishers supporting us, provide a glimpse at our roadmap, and give everyone a taste of who we are via a demo.
Brand & Design System
I wanted a brand that could hold its own alongside the art it would be presenting. Something that bridged the gap between the physical world of print and the digital one we're creating. I wanted it to feel:
The sign is a nod to the experience of discovering your favorite comic shop from the sidewalk; the swirls tie it back to Sweet with a wink toward old-timey candy patterns. Meanwhile, the face turns the logo into a character in its own right, providing us with opportunities to experiment with expression in a way you can only do in digital form.
I incorporated the logo into a vibrant, colorful brand, supported by a bespoke design system built to mode-switch between multiple themes. The system is backed by design tokens synced to Supernova, which powers style automation pipelines across all environments. I instruct the entire system with agentic workflows via Figma Console MCP.
